The Diocesan curriculum guidelines, consistent with the State of Texas guidelines, are followed for the teaching of all secular subject areas at Our Lady of the Valley School.
The Common Core State Standards are used and followed at the school. The standards are designed to be relevant, reflecting the knowledge and skills that the students need for success and to be fully prepared for the future. The standards are designed to provide clear educational standards for kindergarten through 8th grade in English language arts and mathematics.
The standards ensure that parents, teachers, and students have a clear understanding of the expectations in reading, writing, speaking and listening, language and mathematics.
