Our Lady of the Valley had a wonderful 2016-2017 school year. The following is a brief description of what OLV was able to accomplish.
7th and 8th ITBS scores surpassed the expected score range, meaning some 7th and 8th grade students scored in a high school level.
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students had the opportunity to travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico to a conference were future skills needed for interviews and social skills were taught.
Alex Chavez, 7th grader, was awarded 2nd place in the Diocesan Science Fair. His project, The Brighter the Better, consisted on recreating a homemade flashlight with different materials to see which one created brighter light.
7th and 8th grade students finished 1st , and 2nd place in speech tournament.
8th grade Adrian Ramirez was accepted to Mission Early College.
8th graders Paola Hernandez, Valentina Jaramillo, Emily Palacios, Adrian Salas, and Valerie Salas were accepted to Ysleta High School Early College .
8th grader Valentina Gomez was accepted to Silva Health Magnet School.
OLV's soccer team finished the season in second place.
